About & History
Intoxicated Designs is a yaoi/shounen-ai based graphics site. The terms yaoi and shounen-ai (sometimes spelled shonen-ai) basically means boys' love. The purpose of this site is to provide quality designs and graphics for those who, like me, adore shounen-ai and yaoi. It became apparent to me that general AniManga design sites didn't provide the quality I was looking for in the selective shounen-ai graphics they had and so, this site was born.
Intoxicated Designs initially began around late April 2007, but was never truly open to the public until mid July 2007. IntoxD. rests within my spare domain name, shonen-ai.org, which is both registered and hosted under DreamHost. IntoxD. began as a solo project and remains to be a solo project.
In November 2008, Intoxicated Designs was closed down due to my inability to balance the website with my professional work load. Although the site was closed, it remained open and accessible to the public until March 2009. Shortly thereafter, in mid to late May 2009, Intoxicated Designs was reopened.
Almost every image used on the graphics provided by IntoxD. is from a shounen-ai and/or yaoi original animanga series, video game, doujinshi or manga-ka. There may be instances in which the series used is not related to BL, but the pairing present will be BL intended (example: screenshots of Axel and Roxas from the in game scenes of KH2). The reason for this is to keep the theme of BL alive and going. After all, that's what this entire site was created for.
