Contest Information
All right! It's about that time of year when I start cranking out the contest and prizes! Like many of the other contests I've held before, this one will also contain multiple rounds, although each one is like a whole contest of it's own. There are, of course, rules that one must read and follow before joining the contest. Each set of prizes will be listed beneath the proper section.
To submit an entry, send an email to megori@gmail.com. Please make sure to specify which round you are submitting the entry for as well as your Name, Email, Site URL (if applicable) and any additional comments you may have. Also, please make sure your entry is either attached or a link to your entry is visible within the email.
General Rules
- All entries must be shounen-ai/yaoi themed in some way, shape or form. This does not mean females are forbidden on/in the entries, but the two implied males must be the main focus.
- One does not have to enter all three rounds to be a valid contestant. Simply choose whichever contest you'd like to participate in and once submissions are open, submit your entry.
- If you have a site, it would be greatly appreciated if you linked back (text or image) to the homepage of Intoxicated or this page.
Linking the Contest
I've made two banners of two differnt sizes for you to choose from. If you are going to use one of the banners below, please do not direct link it. If you would like to create your own banner, feel free to do so. A text link back to the contest would also work wonders.
Round One: Original Oneshot
In this round, each contestant is to create his or her own original oneshot story. Please note that this is only for original oneshot stories. Any entry containing a fandom pairing and/or more than one chapter will not count as a valid entry.
Round One Rules
- All entries must be between 5-20 pages, single spaced, 9-12pt font and typed in either Tahoma or Verdana only
- All entries must be written in Microsoft Word (.doc), Rich Text Format (.rtf), OpenDocument Text (.odt) or HTML format only
- Submission Dates: February 4, 2008 - May 19, 2008
Round One Prizes
Please take note that the winner of this round can choose any two prizes from the list below.
- $25 cash prize (money order, paypal or gift certificates to Amazon.com or other stores)
- One year paid subscription to LiveJournal or DeviantArt
- Choice of any 2 anime dvds or 4 mangas
- Choice of any two products from JPQueen, YaoiSuki or EverythingYaoi (total cost must not execeed $50)
Round Two: Graphics Galore
In this round, each contestant will have to create one wallpaper and one layout. Please note that in order to qualify as a valid entry, both graphics must be submitted at the same time (zipped). If one is entered without the other, the entry will be disqualified.
Round Two Rules
- All wallpapers submitted must contain at least two different screen resolutions
- All layouts submitted must be browser compatible and resolution friendly; Although not necessary, (X)HTML/CSS validation should be considered
- All credits must be in tact and visible on both the wallpaper and layout (as well as listed on the submission form)
- Submission Dates: February 18, 2008 - April 30, 2008
Round Two Prizes
Please take note that the winner of this round can choose any two prizes from the list below.
- $25 cash prize (money order, paypal or gift certificates to Amazon.com or other stores)
- One year paid subscription to Hybrid Genesis Exclusive Membership
- Choice of any 2 anime dvds or 4 mangas
- Choice of any figurine (total must not exceed $50) from AnimeNation
Round Three: Free for All
This section is a bit different from the previous two, but similar as well. The contestants for this section are to submit three entries of their choice. However, each entry must be of a different medium. What does this mean? If a person decides to write a fanfiction, then the other two entries, to count as one valid entry, cannot be another fanfiction. Unlike the previous two rounds, this one also comes with a theme attached.
Round Three Rules
- All previous rules (fiction/layouts & wallpaper) apply as well in this section (only if writing a fiction/fanfiction or wallpaper/layout)
- When making small graphics (icons, buttons, signs, etc), there must be three of them to count as one of the three entries
- Entries may be submitted separately, but any contestant who does not have three entries by the end of submission time will be disqualified
- Entries are not limited to any medium; If you can think of a way to express the theme in BL, then go for it (web comics, fanart, AMV, plushie RP, etc)
- Theme to Follow: To Create Anew; Rebirth; Restoration
- Submission Dates: February 25, 2008 - May 19, 2008
Round Three Prizes
Please take note that the winner of this round can choose any one prizes from the list below.
- $150 cash prize (money order, paypal or gift certificates to Amazon.com or other stores)
- One year subscription to the Japanese magazine Zero Sum (approx. $250+ value for U.S. citizens)
- One year paid subscription to Hybrid Genesis Exclusive Membership, LiveJournal or DeviantArt (choose two places)
- Choice of any 3 anime dvds or 6 mangas
- One year free hosting and domain registration from Site5
