Design Style
The way I see it, my design style tends to change once in a while. However, my general design style revolves around darker color schemes (black and some other color) with a more grunge look and feel to it. Even so, my layouts typically end up a lot more simplistic than other grunge looking designs created by others. I don't particularly understand how that works, but I've just been told that I do a simple style and a grunge style, so, that's how it goes.
On the side of color schemes, whether I go dark or light, I take quite a long time coming up with a proper color scheme to match the main image as well as making sure they contrast nicely with one another. I try my best not to blind people to death, as I don't like being blinded to death myself. Choosing a color scheme can take anywhere from half an hour to approximately two hours for me. This includes basic content font colors, bold, strong, italic, link colors and a wide variety of other colors. I literally sit here and go through the color wheel in Photoshop until I find a color I'm truly satisfied with.
After I fully design the layout in Photoshop (this includes the navigation and content), I then slice the banner (which is in its separate PSD file from the full page JPEG preview) and begin coding. Coding is my favorite part of designing, even though it also gives me the most headaches. I enjoy learning new ways of doing things and building upon what I know. I also like to try new things here and there, experimenting with new pieces of code. I suppose you can say that coding is my bliss.
Random Information
Well, to be quite honest, I'm a rather simple but complicated person. Generally speaking, I'm an easy person to get along with, as I don't try to get on people's nerves too often. I consider myself extremely open minded, as I've viewed not only shounen-ai/yaoi materials, but yuri (as requested by a male friend of mine) and hentai (as requested by a different male friend) as well.
AniManga wise, I'm open to almost anything. I will have to admit that I'm more of a manga reader than an anime watcher though. Also, when it comes to shounen or shoujo, I generally prefer shounen type series. I do, however, have my shoujo spurts randomly throughout the year, where I will not touch yaoi or shounen manga and read only shoujo. As I'm a bit more of a tomboy, I'm more into the action packed stuff (or sports) than the love-love (yaoi aside) or magical girl type of stories.
I don't particularly do much in my free time, as I'm either working (at my job and/or commission work) or working on my sites. If I'm doing neither, then I'm probably playing video games of some sort. If that's also not the case, then I'm reading manga, whether it be online or offline. I'm an avid manga reader and I have a ton of favorites. Listed below (in no particular order) are some of my most favorite of favorite series.
